Before the conference begins in earnest, Sunday the 29th of October will feature a half day of workshops covering trending topics and challenges.

Fire Performance of Facades

The building industry needs clarity and leadership. The aim of this workshop, and this working group, is to create an international perspective on the issues and to help to create recommendations and guidelines that could work internationally, while local guidance is created.

Floor-Area Calculation

Through a half-day workshop, in conjunction with the 2017 CTBUH Conference beginning the following day, CTBUH will convene the leading industry authorities on floor-area calculation from around the world.

Modular High-Rise Construction

The objective of this workshop is to establish the most salient issues, challenges and trends in high-rise modular, with an ultimate goal of developing a CTBUH Technical Guide on High-Rise Modular Construction.

PassivHaus for High-Rise

A half-day workshop to establish the most salient issues, challenges and techniques for achieving Passivhaus high-rise buildings economically, with an ultimate goal of forming an international committee and developing a CTBUH Technical Guide on Passivhaus High-Rise Construction.

Seismic Design

Workshop to discuss the latest advances in performance-based seismic design. The workshop will include a presentation and review of the new CTBUH Technical Guide entitled “Performance Based Seismic Design of Tall Buildings,” which details the process of PBSD, offering resources and real-world design examples.

Tall Timber

A half-day workshop to establish criteria for categorizing the wide range of construction approaches to tall timber buildings and more.

Urban Habitat / Urban Design

This workshop will discuss the progress of the UH/UD Committee across a number of initiatives, in addition to setting the agenda for the committee moving forward.

Wellness: Future of Workplace and the Human Experience

Join Lendlease’s Head of Workplace Health and Wellbeing Duncan Young, as he leads an insightful health and mindfulness session perfect for those recovering from a long flight, at Lendlease’s flagship project Barangaroo South.
